WASH in Primary Schools
Successfully working with the County Ministries of Education and Health in the delivery of our WASH project to help 77 primary schools build their own knowledge and capability using education and games with the following outcomes:.
50,511 school children provided with WASH education.
1155 Board of Management members educated and empowered in their roles and responsibilities under the Kenya Standards & Guidelines for WASH Infrastructure in Primary Schools in Kenya.
77 Head Teachers and 94 Teacher Health Champions educated and empowered in their roles and responsibilities under the Kenya Standards & Guidelines for WASH Infrastructure in Primary Schools in Kenya.
77 teachers and 154 students trained to set up and run School Health Clubs
77 School Health Clubs taught how to make liquid soap for hand washing using locally available products.
80% reduction in stomach illnesses due to waterborne diseases
Absenteeism significantly reduced due to improved student health and reduced MHM related issues.
54 hand washing tanks supplied to 23 primary schools.
